Supporting clients struggling with their mental health including anxiety & depression
Providing a space for clients navigating the turmoil of infertility, miscarriages and loss
Holding the space for prospective parents, new parents and hopeful parents as they adjust to the challenges of parenthood
At Greener Avenues Therapy, I provide compassionate, professional counselling & therapy for adults. I support individuals who are struggling with their own mental health struggles and find themselves weighed down by symptoms of anxiety & depression. My specialised area of work is providing effective and seeking meaningful support around their infertility struggles and any mental health difficulties, during the perinatal period. I am an experienced, fully trained counsellor & therapist in Marchmont, Edinburgh, based within the Infinity Skin Clinic by Dr Claire on the Grange Road.
Offering both in-person and online therapy, I am creating accessible and supportive options for those looking to either address their overall mental wellbeing or are seeking specialised support to improve their emotional well-being, while undergoing infertility treatment or during the perinatal period ( pregnancy and up to a year post-natal)
My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, professional ethics, and a genuine commitment to helping people feel heard, understood, and supported.

The Story Behind Greener Avenues Therapy
Greener Avenues Therapy was established to offer a calm, respectful space where adults can explore their mental health struggles. It is a place where people no matter their background and current state, are welcome to come understand themselves more and learn how to address their struggles related to their mental health.
The counselling space additionally is a haven for those navigating the immense emotional struggles related to infertility difficulties and within the perinatal period, without judgement. I bring over five years of experience as a qualified counsellor in Edinburgh, having worked across both NHS and private practice settings.
Throughout my career, I have supported individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, and significant life transitions. I have a special interest & focus in helping those who struggle with infertility as well as those who have experienced maternal mental health challenges, including antenatal depression & anxiety as well as postnatal depression & anxiety. From my experiences this has shaped my belief that counselling & therapy should feel collaborative, human, and adaptable to the individual, rather than rigid or prescriptive.
The name Greener Avenues reflects the belief that change is possible, even during challenging periods, and that counselling & therapy can help people move towards a healthier and more balanced future.

My primary therapeutic approach is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, supported by integrative use of Compassion Focused Therapy and Person-Centred Therapy. This allows me to tailor therapy to each client’s needs, goals, and pace.
I offer CBT therapy that focuses on understanding how thoughts, feelings, and behaviours interact, while also creating space for compassion, self-awareness, and emotional processing. Therapy sessions are collaborative and supportive, with an emphasis on helping clients develop practical tools alongside deeper self-understanding.
Sessions are available in-person within my Edinburgh therapy room or as online counselling, delivered through the secure WriteUpp platform.

I hold an Honours Degree in Psychology and a Diploma in Counselling with a CBT approach. I am accredited with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, reflecting my commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and ongoing professional development.
I am also a member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapists as well as a member of the British Infertility Counselling Association ( working towards accreditation) and receive regular clinical supervision from an accredited supervisor. Alongside this, I maintain a structured three-year professional development plan and regularly attend professional training and events.
This ensures that the counselling & psychotherapy I provide is safe, ethical, and informed by current best practice.
I provide dedicated maternal mental health support for individuals and partners during pregnancy and the postnatal period. I have completed several specialist training courses in perinatal mental health and volunteer with PANDAS, a recognised perinatal mental health support organisation.
In-person sessions are held in the downstairs Counselling Room at the Infinity Skin Clinic on Grange Road, Edinburgh, offering a private and professional setting. The location is easily accessible from Marchmont, Bruntsfield, and the surrounding areas.
For those who prefer flexibility, online therapy is available, allowing clients to access support from their own space.
